POSITION: Sales Engineer
LOCATION: Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt
The Sales Engineer will allow for deeper market penetration, improved customer retention, and the structural support needed to transition from steady growth to aggressive expansion which allows for specialized regional focus. He/she combines engineering expertise with strong commercial skills to achieve full sales cycle from inquiry to after sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement customer strategies and action plans to increase sales of Commercial Vehicles – Trucks & Construction Equipment and spare parts.
- Map out and penetrate high-potential logistics hubs across Nigeria (e.g., Lagos, Port Harcourt) to increase market share in the commercial truck segment.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with “Blue Chip” companies and large-scale logistics providers requiring multi-unit fleet.
- Participate in tenders, RFQs, and bid submissions.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Collaborate with internal engineering and operations teams on solution design and costing.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients.
- Ensure proper documentation of sales processes and contracts.
- Track sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3-7 years’ experience in truck sales, engineering solutions, or industrial equipment sales.
- Experience in B2B sales and project-based environments is an advantage.
- Interpersonal, Negotiation, Oral & Communication, Persuasion skills.
- Strong technical and engineering knowledge.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
